Content Policy
Last Updated: September 19, 2026
Our Mission
PushPad is a supplemental learning tool for creating and assigning focused lesson pads that reinforce classroom instruction. We maintain a safe learning environment that meets or exceeds the content standards required in U.S. public K-12 schools.
This Content Policy explains what content is permitted, what is prohibited, and how it is enforced. Educator-created courses, units, lessons, and lesson pads are private to that educator and their invited learners. Only an individual pad an educator explicitly publishes to the marketplace becomes publicly discoverable.
1. School-Based Content Standards
All content must comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Title IX, applicable state education standards, age-appropriate content guidelines, and basic academic integrity (factual accuracy, cited sources where relevant).
2. Prohibited Content
The following is strictly prohibited and will result in content removal and potential account suspension:
- Sexual content: sexually explicit material or any content that sexualizes, endangers, or exploits minors
- Violence: graphic violence, gore, torture, or glorification of violence beyond age-appropriate historical education
- Illegal activity: instructions for illegal acts, drug manufacturing or use, weapon-making, hacking, or fraud
- Self-harm: instruction or promotion of self-harm, suicide, or dangerous challenges/stunts
- Hate and harassment: content promoting violence or illegal discrimination based on protected characteristics, dehumanizing language or slurs, Holocaust denial or genocide minimization
- Occult instruction: witchcraft or spell-casting tutorials, demonology, or occult ritual instruction (academic study of world religions and comparative religion is permitted)
- Privacy violations: sharing a learner's or minor's personal information without consent, or any COPPA violation
- Copyright violations: media used without the right to use it, or media restricted to non-commercial use in a paid marketplace listing
- Academic dishonesty: plagiarized content, fabricated sources, or health misinformation that could cause immediate harm
Historical lessons about war, conflict, or difficult topics are permitted when presented educationally and without graphic imagery. Age-appropriate discussion of religion, comparative history, and controversial topics is permitted when factually grounded and age-appropriate.
3. Content Moderation Process
3.1 Marketplace Review
A lesson pad an educator submits to the marketplace is reviewed before it is publicly listed. It must pass this review before purchase is possible. Content that is private to an educator's own roster is not subject to marketplace pre-review, but remains subject to this Content Policy and can be removed if reported and found in violation.
3.2 Reporting
Anyone can report content that appears to violate this policy by emailing support@pushpad.com with the pad title or ID and a description of the concern. Reports are reviewed and the reporter is notified of the outcome.
4. Enforcement
- First violation: content removed, warning issued, account remains active
- Repeated violations: marketplace suspension, then account suspension
- Severe violations (child safety, illegal content, terrorist content): immediate permanent ban and, where applicable, notification to law enforcement
Marketplace earnings from content found in violation may be withheld. Removing or restricting access to already-sold marketplace content without cause is a separate matter; see the Marketplace section of our Terms of Service.
5. Appeals
If content was removed in error, email support@pushpad.com within 30 days with the pad ID and an explanation of why it complies with this policy. Appeals are reviewed by a different reviewer within 5 business days. Severe violations (child safety, illegal content) are not eligible for appeal.
6. Educator Responsibilities
- Review PushPad-generated content for accuracy and appropriateness before assigning it
- Verify factual claims and cite sources where relevant
- Ensure content matches its declared grade level
- Use only media you have the right to use (see Section 5 of our Terms of Service)
- Never include a learner's personal information beyond what PushPad's own account system requires
7. Policy Updates
This Content Policy may be updated to reflect changes in law, emerging safety concerns, or platform evolution. Material changes will be announced via email and in-platform notification.
