Last Updated: November 6, 2025
1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using NextJS Lessons ("Platform", "Service", "we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing this site.
This platform is intended as a center for learning and education. All content must meet the same standards required in U.S. K-12 public schools.
2. Educational Content Standards
2.1 School-Appropriate Content Only
All content created, shared, or sold on this platform must meet the educational standards enforced in U.S. public K-12 schools. Content must comply with:
- Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)
- Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
- State and federal education standards
- Age-appropriate content guidelines
- Academic integrity and factual accuracy requirements
2.2 Strictly Prohibited Content
The following content is explicitly prohibited and will result in immediate removal and potential account termination:
- Occult practices: Witchcraft instruction, demonology, satanism, dark magic rituals, spell-casting tutorials, or occult ceremonies (academic study OF religions in comparative religion courses is acceptable)
- Sexually explicit material: Pornography, sexual content, or inappropriate material for minors of any kind
- Child exploitation: Any content that sexualizes, endangers, or exploits minors
- Violence and gore: Graphic violence, gore, torture, or disturbing imagery beyond age-appropriate historical education
- Illegal activities: Instructions for illegal acts, illegal drug manufacturing or use, bomb-making, or other criminal activities
- Dangerous content: Instructions that could lead to serious injury or death (dangerous challenges, self-harm, suicide promotion)
- Personal information: Sharing of student or minor personal information without parental consent (COPPA violation)
2.3 Educational Perspectives Welcome
We support diverse educational approaches and viewpoints. Parents have the right to choose their family's educational philosophy:
- Christian/Faith-Based: Biblical principles, faith integration, Christian worldview, creation science perspectives
- Classical Education: Great Books, Socratic method, Western canon, traditional liberal arts
- Traditional/Conservative: Patriotism, traditional values, classical history, phonics-based reading
- Progressive: Social justice themes, environmental focus, diverse perspectives
- Secular/Academic: Evidence-based, peer-reviewed sources, scientific consensus
- Other Approaches: Montessori, Charlotte Mason, unschooling, eclectic methods
Platform Neutrality: We do not favor one educational philosophy over another. Creators label their perspective, and parents filter to their preferences. Content must be educationally sound and age-appropriate, regardless of viewpoint.
2.4 Media Copyright and Licensing Requirements
Since this platform does not host media files, all images, videos, and audio must be embedded from external sources. You are solely responsible for ensuring all embedded media complies with copyright law and licensing requirements.
AI-Powered Media Suggestions (Automatic)
Our AI lesson builder automatically suggests copyright-free media from these pre-approved sources:
- Unsplash - Professional photos, free for commercial use, no attribution required
- Pexels - Photos and videos, free for commercial use
- Pixabay - Photos, videos, and illustrations, free for commercial use
- Wikimedia Commons - Educational media, public domain and Creative Commons licenses
AI Suggestions Disclaimer: While these sources provide copyright-free media suitable for commercial educational use, you should review each suggested media item before including it in your lesson. We automatically filter for commercial-use licenses, but ultimate responsibility for copyright compliance remains with the lesson creator.
Manual Media Additions
You may manually add media from other sources, including:
- YouTube Videos: Only manually added, not AI-suggested. Must comply with YouTube's Terms of Service and verify embedding is allowed
- Vimeo Videos: Ensure creator allows educational embedding
- Other Sources: Must be copyright-free, public domain, or properly licensed
šï CRITICAL LEGAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Personal Use Lessons: All embedded media must be copyright-free, public domain, Creative Commons licensed, or properly licensed for educational use
- Marketplace Lessons (Paid): All embedded media must ALSO allow commercial use. Media with "non-commercial only" restrictions (CC-BY-NC, etc.) CANNOT be used in paid lessons
- YouTube & Third-Party Embeds: Videos may contain copyrighted music, clips, or materials. You are responsible for verifying the content is appropriate and legally embeddable for your use case
- Fair Use: Educational fair use may apply in limited circumstances, but you bear the legal risk. When in doubt, use licensed content from our approved sources
- No Media Hosting: We do not host media files on our servers. All media is embedded from external URLs, and you must ensure those sources remain available and compliant
Indemnification: By submitting content with embedded media, you represent and warrant that you have the legal right to use all media, and you agree to indemnify and hold harmless NextJS Lessons from any copyright claims arising from your media use.
Platform Actions: We will remove content upon receiving valid DMCA takedown notices. Repeat copyright violations will result in account termination and potential legal liability.
